Durgabai Deshmukh Mahila Sabha (Andhra Mahila Sabha) was established by Dr. (Smt.) Durgabai Deshmukh way back in 1938 with an objective to serve the women and children. Her dreams of serving the cause of disabled in Andhra Pradesh resulted in the establishment of Durgabai Deshmukh Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped in 1982, the international year of the disabled.
The Durgabai Deshmukh Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped offers Vocational Training & Special Education Services along with Special Teacher Training Programmes.
The centre is a service oriented organization caters services to persons with disabilities of Low socio Economic group. The education and training is offered in a G + 3 storied building with all facilities in a specially designed environment by specially trained teachers.
The members of the management of the organization serve the centre through voluntary service without taking any honorarium.
